Kenyama Brown is a native of Spanish Town, St. Catherine. His early schooling saw him attending St. Jago Cathedral Prep and St. Jago High School. He later had the opportunity to represent Jamaica as an exchange student in Columbia, as part of the American Field Service Programme (AFS). He returned to Jamaica in 1994 where he worked at Ciboney Ocho Rios Hotel as an Entertainment Coordinator and later moved on to Workers Savings and Loans Bank. He successfully completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish with Minors in Political Science and Sociology at the University of the West Indies.

Kenyama Brown is a native of Spanish Town, St. Catherine. His early schooling saw him attending St. Jago Cathedral Prep and St. Jago High School. He later had the opportunity to represent Jamaica as an exchange student in Columbia, as part of the American Field Service Programme (AFS). He returned to Jamaica in 1994 where he worked at Ciboney Ocho Rios Hotel as an Entertainment Coordinator and later moved on to Workers Savings and Loans Bank. He successfully completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish with Minors in Political Science and Sociology at the University of the West Indies.


Kenyama later joined the National Youth Service, where he served in various capacities such as Project Supervisor for the Jamaica / Canada International Exchange programme and similar roles for National Projects such as the National Volunteerism programme, National Labour Day Project, just to name a few. He was also enlisted in the Third Jamaica Regiment of the Jamaica Defence Force as an Officer Cadet. This service ended as a result of him accepting the appointment to the then Minister of Foreign Affairs, to serve as First Secretary and Student Affairs Officer for the Jamaica Mission in Havana, Cuba. He later served as an assistant to Member of Parliament, Mr. Anthony Hylton, and also served as Special Advisor to Mr. Anthony Hylton, when he was appointed Minister of Industry, Investment and Commerce. Kenyama later joined the Cannabinoid Research and Development Company as Chief Executive Officer. He has also entered representational politics as the candidate for the People’s National Party for West Central, St Catherine constituency in 2020.


Kenyama has had an affinity for insurance and he first got his introduction when he assisted his late father, by identifying prospective clients. This later became a reality when he decided to join Lawe Insurance Brokers, under the guidance of Mr. Pete Forrest. He believes that he has found his true calling and sees a prosperous, fulfilling future as an insurance professional.

Kenyama is husband to Francine, an Insurance Agent. His most fulfilling title is that he is father of two children, Samuel and Hannah.
